Something new for 2023
I am pleased to announce that I am (re)launching my old brand SqueakWorks as a new startup. This has been in the making for a while, and I am excited to share the news! When you make as many websites as we do over at Reiff Valliant & Co., you start to see patterns and areas of the market that are underserved. We continually see clients who desire the convenience of a traditional SaaS website builder/CMS platform (think Squarespace, WordPress, Wix, etc.), but whose actual needs push those platforms to the limits in terms of what kind of customizations are possible. And we certainly have experience pushing those platforms to the limits! Though this is often the case with individuals and solopreneurs, it is especially true for clients who fall into the SMB, startup, and enterprise categories; what begins as a straightforward project is eventually outgrown as the client scales.
Typically, we see these clients have demands for SEO, loading times, security, data portability (this one is huge!) and developer interoperability that we simply cannot promise when building on a SaaS. The traditional solution, of course, is custom development and third party hosting, but this proposition is incredibly intimidating for clients in 2023, when we live in a world where everything is seemingly “turnkey” and “on demand”. Concerns like budget and “scope creep” are very real and justified. We knew there had to be a better way to make custom development more accessible, so we did.
Introducing custom website/webapp development as a service. Since the vast majority of our clients tend to stick around after a fixed project in need of ongoing support, we realized it makes more sense to package the initial development build, ongoing support, and hosting all into a single accessible subscription service. This, in combination with development using state-of-the-art Jamstack architecture, makes it incredibly efficient and productive for us to create virtually anything for any project. Using our years of experience and Agile methodologies, we can deliver a subscription service that gives our clients the peace of mind of using a SaaS, without any of the limitations.
